The churches have also become some of most prominent for having two altarpieces, as the Church of Bachicabo that has on its cover the richest set of storied archivolts of "tardorrománico" in the province, and the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Tuesta or the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Angosto where legend says that a Virgin appeared floating in the water after a flood. The Church of San Roman de Tobillas was the choice of the first Christians to launch the first temple of this religion in the Basque Country that has become a historic landmark.
