Kuartango hides a beautiful natural setting, crossed by the Bayas river and sheltered by the mountains of Badaia and Arkamo and the mountains of Gibijo.

Also a past with large vestiges that remain today as the Tower House Urbina Basabe, which shows in a hall the Battle of Andagoste and where the oldest Roman remains in Euskadi are kept, or the four dolmens of Katadiano where human remains were found.

The prehistoric sites in the caves of Solacueva of Lacozmonte still preserved showcave paintings, which make this valley a corner of special interest to meet with the more ancient history.

The "Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Escolumbe" (Shrine of Our Lady of Escolumbe) a short distance away from Katadiano, and the chapel of "Santísima Trinidad" (Holy Trinity), near Guillarte are two highlights when visiting the Valley of Kuartango.

Wandering through its landscapes, resting along the river in the old building spa Zuhatzu-Kuartango, and taking your time touring the twenty villages that dot the valley is a tribute to the good scenery and tranquility.
