The Natural Park of Valderejo was declared the first Natural Park of Araba / Álava in 1992, and in 2013 has obtained the Q of Tourist Quality, being the first protected natural area of ​​Euskadi to obtain this certification. In addition, in the rocks of the Natural Park of Valderejo is the most numerous colony of griffon vulture of the Basque Country.

The "Parketxe" or House of the Park offers basic information about the natural and cultural values ​​of the park, which has nine signposted routes, among which the El Desfiladero del Rio Purón.
